Are liver treats good for my dog?
Freeze-dried, raw, one-ingredient beef liver treats can be great for dogs because they offer a range of health benefits, particularly due to their simplicity and high nutrient content:
- Rich in Protein: Beef liver is a high-protein treat that can support your dog’s muscle health, energy levels, and overall bodily functions.
- Nutrient-Dense: Liver is loaded with essential vitamins like A, B, and K, as well as minerals such as iron, copper, and zinc. Vitamin A supports skin, coat, and eye health, while B vitamins help maintain energy and nerve function.
- Low Processing: Freeze-drying retains most of the raw nutrients without cooking or additional preservatives, meaning your dog gets more natural nutrients than in highly processed treats.
- Single Ingredient: Being a single-ingredient treat with no additives, fillers, or artificial ingredients makes it less likely to cause allergies or digestive upset, which is ideal for dogs with sensitivities.
- Good for Training: Many dogs find the taste and texture of freeze-dried beef liver irresistible, making these treats perfect for positive reinforcement training.
Overall, these treats are a natural, nutrient-packed option that supports various aspects of a dog’s health, from their immune system to coat health, while also being a safe and high-value reward.
Are heart treats good for my dog?
Freeze-dried raw, one-ingredient beef heart treats are great for dogs because they offer a unique blend of nutrients that can contribute to their health and well-being. Here’s why they’re beneficial:
- High in Lean Protein: Beef heart is an excellent source of lean protein, essential for muscle development, tissue repair, and overall energy. It’s especially beneficial for active dogs needing a protein boost.
- Rich in Taurine: Beef heart is naturally high in taurine, an amino acid that supports heart health and eye function in dogs. Taurine is essential for cardiovascular function and helps reduce the risk of heart disease.
- Packed with B Vitamins: Beef heart contains B vitamins (especially B12 and B6), which are important for energy metabolism, brain function, and healthy red blood cell production.
- Iron and Zinc Source: These minerals play critical roles in immunity, wound healing, and metabolic function, making beef heart treats a great source of natural iron and zinc.
- Low in Fat: Freeze-dried beef heart is relatively low in fat compared to other organs, making it a healthy, guilt-free treat option for dogs that need to watch their calorie intake.
- Minimal Processing: Freeze-drying helps retain nutrients without using preservatives or fillers, so your dog receives a nutrient-dense snack with a high concentration of essential vitamins and minerals.
Overall, beef heart treats are a nutrient-rich, minimally processed reward that provides cardiovascular benefits, supports muscle maintenance, and contributes to overall vitality.
How many treats should I give my dog?
We suggest using our treats as a special treat for your dog or cat. To ensure the best care and address any specific needs, it's always wise to consult with your veterinarian, as they can provide expert guidance tailored to your pet's health.
Is this made is the USA?
Proudly handcrafted in small batches our product reflects a commitment to quality, precision, and local craftsmanship. All of our organ meet is locally sourced through a family owned slaugter house (Royal Center Locker Plant) in Indiana and is USDA inspected.
What is the shelf life of your treats?
Our treats have an 18 month shelf life but if properly handled they can last much longer.
Do I need to store them in the fridge since they are raw beef?
No, you do not. They have been freeze dried. Freeze-drying removes 98–99% of the water from food, which is much higher than the 80–95% that's typically removed by dehydration. This results in a lighter product that's more suitable for long-term storage.
What animals are these treats intended for?
Dogs and cats but carnivorous animals can eat them. To ensure the best care and address any specific needs, it's always wise to consult with your veterinarian, as they can provide expert guidance tailored to your pet's health.
How do I store the treats?
The best way to store freeze-dried dog treats is to keep them in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight and moisture. Here are some tips for optimal storage:
- Use an airtight container: Store the treats in an airtight container to protect them from moisture and humidity, which can cause them to spoil or lose their crisp texture.
- Avoid direct sunlight: Place the container in a dark cupboard or pantry to prevent exposure to light, which can degrade nutrients over time.
- Keep in a cool area: If possible, store them in a cool area of your home, as temperature fluctuations can affect freshness.
- Vacuum-sealing (if storing long-term): If you buy in bulk, consider vacuum-sealing smaller portions to ensure they stay fresh for longer.
Following these steps will help keep the treats fresh, tasty, and safe for your dog to enjoy.
